Summer is more flexible than the school year hours. We can ponder the topics that we wanted to read about but were limited in time.
One of the issues that concerned us this year was whether new technologies implementation result in student learning. Articles published recently show encouraging results. One of the problems that held back tracking of results was the lack of proper assessment. New literacy skills were not addressed until 2008, and it was noted as a problem in proper measuring of students' progress. Such skills as evaluation of websites and understanding of online texts were not included in evaluations. Read more on the topic at Reading Rockets
