NESA Library Week

The week of November 16, 2009 is assigned for the Library Technology Week run simultaneously in several NESA school libraries.

Meet Me @ My Library is a slogan that promotes the idea of introducing students of different NESA schools to each other. Students will be able to share their interests, hobbies, and skills through their projects they work on digitally in class.

A variety of engaging activities will welcome Elementary, Middle, and High school students.

Writing workshop, collaborative storytelling, Where Wild Things Are projects, Reading Marathon, and Story Lunches make the list diverse.

Middle and High School students will be invited to enjoy a cup of tea and a cookie in a coffee shop that we are planning to run for the week in the lobby adjacent to the library. The coffee shop will be open on Monday, when the Book Club members get together around the table to discuss The Book Thief by Marcus Zusak.

Librarians from NESA schools are working on Scavenger Hunt. High and Middle School students will email their answers to librarians.

During the week a Parade of Digital Projects will march on a Library we page. Students from NESA schools will be able to learn about their peers from other International Overseas schools. Students and teachers will present projects they work digitally in class and observe works of others.

Teachers and librarians are invited to share their ideas and experience by posting successful lesson plans and projects.

Participation in the NESA Library Technology Week project is important as through collaboration we build multicultural awareness and tolerance and show an example of solving problems through dialog and understanding.
