Teachers build many plans in anticipation of summer break: to read books and magazines, to check professional materials in online collections that are active throughout the year, take a breath, and organize their papers for next school year.
We invite you to browse the Library Catalog for Teacher Resources. Open Destiny Catalog and look for Resource Lists on the left side menu. Teacher Resources list contains titles of our professional development collection located in the Library Office.
Summer is also time to learn Web 2.0: Many of us plan to learn Web 2.0 online tools that are useful in one-to-one laptop class setting. Even though Google.com provides an abundance of valuable sites on any topic, we would like to recommend some that may save you time.
Tech department recommends an article from Edutopia Teach with Technology: Language Arts that provides tips on using digital tools for learning language and literature.
There are many plans and the time is short. The key to success is our commitment and time management. Brenda Power in her May 30 posting in Literacy Choice blog writes that Pecha-Kucha method developed in Tokyo by Mark Dytham and Astrid Klein demands big projects and long presentations fit into 20 slides and be presented within 6 min and 40 seconds only. Brenda recommends to keep this method in mind and try it as an exercise when we want to accomplish tasks within a short time.
